A delegation from the Cultural and Social Activity Section at the Clubs Department, Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, visited Al Madeef Centre for people with special needs at Al Mafraq.

During the visit, which falls under the social initiatives carried out by the section, the delegation was briefed on the services provided to the center’s inmates. Memorial presents ere also distributed, which brought joy and happiness to the hearts of inmates.

It is worth mentioning that the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs had officially opened the center at Al Mafraq by the end of 2013, with a view to host people with special needs, providing long-term shelter and continuous support and care.

The center provides medical, nursing, treatment and rehabilitation services, supported by the Health Authority - Abu Dhabi (HAAD). It also provides round-the-clock pediatrics, neurology and osteology services, in addition to nursing services. The facility also offers rehabilitation treatment, including natural therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy. Moreover, the center organizes various workshops where students receive training on simple carpentry, electronics repair and candle making. It also provides training services to students who specialize in various medical disciplines, in addition to academic and education services, wheel chairs, splints, artificial limbs and other services.
