The Ministry of Interior hosted a ceremony to honor partners of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense General Directorate, including government and non-governmental entities, departments, institutions, agencies and companies from the public and private sectors. The ministry also honored a number of officers and non-commissioned officers during the ceremony that was recently held in Abu Dhabi.

The ceremony was attended by Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police. Major General Al Raisi underlined the unrelenting commitment of the Ministry of Interior to developing the Civil Defense sector and providing it with modern and sophisticated devices and equipment in order to keep pace with the sweeping cultural growth witnessed by the UAE in various fields.

In his speech marking the occasion, Colonel Juma Salem Al Dahmani, Acting Director of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, said: “Thanks to the unwavering support of the police leadership, the Civil defense sector has made great strides towards implementing the best administrative, operational, preventive and awareness-raising practices, as well as strengthening relations with its strategic partners, in a bid to preserve life and property and safeguard national achievements and potentials.”

Adding further, Colonel Al Dahmani indicated that the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense General Directorate works according to elaborate and forethought plans to recruit the best national cadres, and seeks to qualify staff members and improve their operational skills, physical fitness and knowledge levels. “This would help staff members to rise up to the challenges and potential incidents; and to stay updated on the latest technology trends and techniques,” he said. Furthermore, he noted that the directorate strives to provide civil defense centers with modern high-end devices, technical equipment and advanced machinery. In conclusion, the Acting Director of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense praised the diligent efforts exerted by the distinguished civil defense staff members aimed at improving work processes. He also commended the valuable collaboration of partners, which reflected positively on the development drive taking place at the directorate.

The honoring ceremony was attended by heads of departments, chiefs of sections and a number of officers from the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense General Directorate. Also attending were representatives of government and non-governmental entities, departments, institutions, agencies and companies from the private and public sectors.

Towards the end of the ceremony, Major General Dr. Ahmed Al Raisi and, Colonel Juma Al Dahmani distributed commemorative gifts and certificates of appreciation to the honorees.
