The Directorate General of the Security and Ports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police celebrated the graduation of a specialized security course. A total of 15 members from different Weapons and Explosives sections across the country and participants from the GCC countries, completed the course that falls under the training cooperation among the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, represented by the Training Department; the Ministry of Interior; and the GCC countries.

In his speech on the occasion, Colonel Hamid Al Afrit, Head of the Weapons and Explosives Department at Abu Dhabi Police, said: “The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ constantly exerts significant efforts to achieve the strategic goals; to increase the efficiency of police staff members and allow them to take up their security responsibilities in a professional manner to protect security and national gains.”

He added: “These strategic visions of Abu Dhabi Police are based on several concepts, most notably the need to build a police and security force capable of coping with work developments, and to improve their technical and mental capabilities. The Abu Dhabi Police seeks to achieve these goals efficiently through advanced training processes and distinguished training plans organized and carried out by the Training Department.”

For his part, Captain Khalifa Al Fleiti, Director of the Training Institute at the Weapons and Explosives Department, said: “The 6-week course was conducted by experts from the United Kingdom. The course program included a number of theoretical and practical topics that are based on scenarios, in addition to training on the proper means to implementing specialized security inspection processes.”

Colonel Hamid Al Afrit handed the certificates to the graduates, wishing the best of good luck and success in their careers.
