46 motorcycles and bicycles seized in a crackdown campaign against traffic violations
 
 
A crack down on traffic violations by the cyclists and motorcyclist  has been conducted by Police Operations Department at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ in order to stop  bicycle and motorcycle users from violating the traffic regulations and assure the safety of  the passengers and other road users.
 
Major Mohamed Rashed Al Shamsi Head of Baniyas Police pointed out that it is the responsibility of Abu Dhabi Police to maintain the good conduct of our students and all road users and assure the safety of all.
 

The campaign was launched during the early summer and continues until next September. During the campaign, 46 motorcycles were seized, impounded and fined.

 
Major Al Shamsi pointed out that 85% of these offenders belong to the category of students between the ages of 12 to 17.
 
On the other hand, Lieutenant Mohamed Thabit Al Muhairi Branch manager of Traffic and Patrol in Baniyas Police pointed that the campaign is organized during the summer vacation due to the large use of bicycles by students therefore we had to intensify campaigns to control these drivers who put their lives and the lives of others at risk.
