45 students enrolled in Masters Program at Police College
45 police officers have joined the second batch of Master programs of ‘criminal justice’ and ‘police administration’ at Police College yesterday.
At the reception party held in honor of the new students, Director General of Police College, Colonel Saif Ali Al Kutbi, said: “Police College is always keen on implementing the strategy of Ministry of Interior and the directives of the police leadership, to further promote quality and excellence in various fields of police work”.
He urged officers for much more efforts and wished them success.
Masters programs help enhancing efficiently of Ministry of Interior’s employees and provide them with criminal and police management knowledge, he said. These programs also establish trends of scientific research and strengthen links with security and criminal institutions at the Gulf, Arab and international levels, he added.
For his part, Director of Post Graduates Studies Department at the Police College, Colonel Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Bu Hindi, stated that the two programs have been well organized and prepared ; in as much they fit the number of students enrolled in them and the accredited academic schedule, in accordance with the study plan 2011-2012.
Curriculums have been designed as per the requirements and goals of the Ministry of Interior Strategy, he indicted.
Duration of the programs is two academic years study. In the first year, students receive two semesters of not less than 16 weeks for each. While in the second year, they prepare the thesis.
Study will be three days per week in the evening for four hours daily, during which students receive many subjects including theoretical and applied courses.
Present were directors of the departments and head sections of the Police College, as well as teaching staff and students.
