4 Killed on Abu Dhabi roads
Four people were killed and 104 injured in 55 road accidents in Abu Dhabi city during the last fortnight.
Captain Saif Al Dara’ei at Abu Dhabi traffic and patrols department said: “most of the accidents were caused by ignorance on the part of motorists.
Not keeping a safe distance between vehicles, speeding, jumping traffic lights and entering street without checking for oncoming vehicles were the main causes of accidents.”
SMS Campaign
He warned motorists against ignoring traffic safety regulations. He also urged them to talk extra care while driving.
Meanwhile, the traffic department has launched an SMS campaign as part of the ongoing GCC Traffic week. SMSs will be sent to motorists registered with the department with different safety slogans, inviting them to talk part in the traffic campaign.
