281 Police Officers to Graduate from the Police College today

The 16th batch of Police Officers, including 266 UAE Nationals and 15 others from the GCC, are all set to graduate from the police college today. The ceremony will be attended by HH Lt.Gen.Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Interior.

Brigadier Mustafa Shehab Al Hashemi, Director General of the Police College, said that 281 police officers will be the last batch to graduate under the old curriculum, which grants a BA Degree in legal and police sciences to the officer trainees. The next batch to graduate in November will be awarded their BA Degree in police sciences as well as criminal justice.

The new curriculum which was introduced in the Middle East for the first time focuses on the applied and field aspects of the Policemen’s job and also highlights the expanding use of technology in detecting new crimes.

Lt. Gen.Sheikh Saif has issued a decree for the establishment of a permanent committee that will work on developing the curriculum of the Police College including the new one as the Ministry is keen on including any thing new in this field to produce highly qualified Police Officers.
