241 held in drug cases


The anti narcotic squads of the Abu Dhabi Police have arrested 35 drug dealers last year.

 Major Abdul Rahman Al Shamsi, head of the antinarcotics department in Abu Dhabi said that the department was able to arrest 241 individuals involved in drug cases, including 112 addicts, 12 drug peddlers and 40accuesd of smuggling drugs in to country through air, land and sea passages in addition to 17 accused of illegal possession of drugs.

 Anti drug squads also rounded up 25 persons accused of inhaling glue.
