CAPITAL'S POLICE COLLEGE INTRODUCES NEW 'FILTERING' SYSTEM

  

152 cadets of the 14 th batch to pass out tomorrow

 

The Police College in Abu Dhabi has introduced a new 'filtering' system to ensure only officers of a high caliber graduate, said Colonel Hashim Abdullah Sarhan, Director General of the College.

 

Col Sarhan said the new system had been introduced on the instructions of the Lt-General Dr Mohammed Saeed Al Badi, Minister of Interior, and Major-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ministry's Under-secretary.

 

As part of the modernization scheme, the college has embarked on a pilot e Learning programme. According to Col Sarhan, the project is aimed at keeping the e-government policy adopted by the country. Once introduced, students log on to the college's website and search for information, topics or references to use in their research, To ensure success of the new curriculum, a number of lecturers have been appointed including nine PhD holders and 20 MA degree holders,

The 14th batch, which will pass out tomorrow, includes 152 students who completed four years at the college.
