Approximately 1255 supervisors and school bus drivers benefited from the awareness campaigns organized by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate in collaboration with Emirates Transport. The awareness campaigns aimed to educate them about traffic safety rules and the safe transportation of students within the “Back to School” program. This comes in line with “Their Safety is Our Concern” campaign for the new academic year 2014-2015. The number of supervisors and school bus drivers in Abu Dhabi amounted to 975 and 280 supervisors and drivers in Al Ain.

Major Salah Abdullah Al Hemairi, Acting Head of Al Ain Traffic Section at the ADP Traffic and Patrols Directorate, noted that the Traffic and Patrols Section had intensified traffic patrols at various important locations in Al Ain city with the beginning of the new academic year. He also praised the concerted efforts related to the new improvements and enhancement project in the schools street area.

Furthermore, Major Al Hemairi highlighted the need for all supervisors and school bus drivers to fully comply with the traffic laws and regulations to guarantee safe transport of school children. A team from the Public Relations Branch at Al Ain Traffic Section provided awareness programs to 280 school bus drivers in order to raise the level of traffic education among them.

For his part, First Lieutenant Nasser Khalifa Al Shamesi, Public Relations Branch Manager at Al Ain Traffic Section, stressed the importance of abiding by traffic rules in order to ensure everyone's safety. He also advised drivers to drive safely and carefully, to adhere to traffic laws while driving school buses. These remarks were made by Fisrt Lieutenant Al Shamesi during the traffic awareness lecture that was organized at Al Tamayoz Elementary School’s theater.
