The UAE National Team received the Sports Excellence Shield in the first edition of the GCC Police Games, which took place in the sisterly country of Kuwait from 8 -14 November. The UAE National Team ranked first, claiming 14 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 8 bronze medals, followed by the Kuwait and the Saudi Arabia police national teams in second and third places, respectively.

In the 50 meters freestyle swimming, Mohammed Jassim Ahmed Al Muhairi and Ahmed Khalfan Abdullah Al Juhuri, from the UAE national team won the silver and bronze medals, respectively. Moreover, Mohammed Jassim Ahmed Al Muhairi claimed the bronze medal in the 100 meters freestyle swimming competition.

In the 50 meters backstroke, Mohammed Abdullah Al Ghaferi and Mubarak Salem Al Bushr from the UAE police national team claimed the gold and the silver medals, respectively. Abdullah Suleiman Al Dhaheri claimed the bronze medal in the100 meters backstroke swimming competition.

Furthermore, in the freestyle relay swimming race 200 meters (4 x 50 meters) the UAE national team (4 Swimmers: Mohammed Jassim Ahmed Al Muhairi, Ahmed Khalfan Abdullah Al Juhairi, Mohammed Abdullah Al Ghaferi, and Mubarak Salem Al Bushr), claimed the gold medal.

In the 50 meters face-down stroke swimming competitions, Mubarak Salem Al Bushr from the UAE national team obtained the gold medal. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ghaferi claimed the silver medal in the 50 meters butterfly swim-off competitions.

In the singles’ Kata competition in the Karate games, the UAE national team managed to claim the bronze medal.

Brigadier Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Police Sports Association and head of the participating police team delegation, praised the achievement of the UAE Police National team, which ranked first in the First Edition of the GCC Police Games. This milestone was realized thanks to the support of the police leadership to the police’s national sports teams,” he said. Additionally, Brigadier Al Dhaheri expressed his pride in this achievement.

In conclusion, the Chairman of the Police Sports Association commended congratulated the athletes and members of the technical and administrative bodies on this achievement that meets the UAE coveted aspirations. Brigadier Al Dhaheri also highlighted the support of the police leadership for its athletes, in their quest to achieve additional honorable results to the record of achievements of the UAE police.
