Marc-Andre Lorrain, Canadian Consul and Rachel Elks, UK Vice-Consul, to the UAE recently visited the Social Support Centers Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. The visit included the centers of the department in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region.

They were received by Colonel Ali Salem Al Badi, Director of the Social Support Center in Al Ain, in the presence of a number of officers and the managers of the branches and sections. Colonel Al Badi briefed the visitors about the department’s goals and its role in handling the various social and familial issues problems that threaten the family’s structure. He also highlighted the most prominent cases the center receives and how to address and resolve them in a friendly manner.

Furthermore, the visiting dignitaries were also introduced to the center’s role in respect of child’s issues and the educational programs that contribute in protecting the child from all the forms of violence and neglect. Al Badi also explained the department’s role in taking care of the child and taking all the preventive and remedial actions required to protect children from various problems, providing the needed psychological and moral support, and participating in preparing and implementing the plans that support the child.

At the end of the visit, the delegation expressed their admiration for the role of the Social Support Centers Department. They also praised the efforts made to achieve safety and stability for all the members of the society.
