On Saturday, a delegation of the Security Support Department at Abu Dhabi Police travelled to London for a two-week visit. The delegation is headed by Captain Jassem Muhammad Al Zaabi, Patrol Officer at Security Support Department, and includes a number of the Department’s members. The delegation will be taking part in the daily patrol field tasks and various training activities of the London Metropolitan Police. The visit falls within the framework of the international cooperation efforts in security and police fields and the expertise exchange program.

According to Colonel Khaled Al Shamesi, Head of Security Support Department at Abu Dhabi Police, the visit to the London Metropolitan Police aims to promote the exchange of field police expertise in the areas of security support. This is realized by taking part in the daily tasks and training of the Metropolitan Police in addition to coordinating with various police patrols when responding to serious reports.

He stressed on the commitment of the police leadership to develop the capabilities of the national cadres by embodying the comprehensive strategic objectives of the Ministry of Interior. Additionally, Colonel Al Shamesi pointed to the keenness of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) to continuously enhance the professional and technical competence of its personnel through the provision of the vocational training programs. By doing so, the GHQ endeavors to enable its personnel to achieve its objectives and strategic plans.

Colonel Al Shamesi also noted that the delegation includes female members from the Department, which reflects the Department’s belief regarding the importance of female members and their role in supporting the overall performance of the Security Support Patrols.
