Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, met in his office at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters on Monday with Lieutenant General Dr. Wilhelm Schmidbauer, Chief of Bavarian State Police, accompanied by Munich Police Chief, Lieutenant General Hubertus Andrae, and Brigadier Andrea Remi, Director General of the Office of the Munich Police Chief.
HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed the visiting German delegation, stressing the importance of international cooperation, mutual field work and the exchange of expertise between the German and Emirati Police, to enhance community service efforts.
The meeting was attended by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Resources and Support Services; Brigadier Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Brigadier Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police; and a number of high ranking officers.
Brigadier Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harthi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, had met with the delegation members at the Central Operations Headquarters and briefed them about the workflow at the Department and the Operations Room and means to upgrade performance according to Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy, which aims at enhancing security and stability, based on the police leadership’s strategy to achieve excellence and creativity in the police and security work.
The delegation reviewed the latest developments at Abu Dhabi Police, in line with the police leadership’s directives to keep pace with modernization and creativity, and its future plans to adopt modern techniques to transform Abu Dhabi into a safe smart city.
The delegation also watched a documentary that highlights the development plans achieved at the Operations Room and its professional efficient way in events management across the emirate of Abu Dhabi. They were also briefed about the adopted work systems and programs and the means to deal with crises, incidents and notifications, in addition to the modern systems used to ensure workflow.
The delegation members were also briefed about smart traffic patrol and its cutting-edge systems, and expressed their admiration for the high level of development attained in the use of modern techniques.
The German delegation has also visited the Abu Dhabi Police College, where they were briefed by Colonel Saif Al Ketbi, the Police College Director, about the organizational structure of the Police College, its tasks and duties, and the educational programs provided by the College to graduate highly-qualified police officers capable of fulfilling the challenging tasks of police and security work.
