Abu Dhabi Civil Defense General Directorate, in cooperation with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, launched a campaign through mosque pulpits in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region. The campaign was launched after Friday Prayers and called for a need to adhere to fire prevention and public safety requirements.

Lt. Colonel Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al Ansari, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, emphasized the need for continuing work on education, guidance and awareness to community members, to encourage them to take fire-prevention measures, especially in the summer, to safeguard lives and property.

He also pointed to the cooperation with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments in educating the public through mosques on the causes of fires and how to avoid them, the precautions that should be available in homes, and the best action to take when a fire starts, including how to use manual fire extinguishers.

The campaign aims to cover all of the Emirate’s mosques over two months in addition to lectures and the distribution of printed flyers about how to prevent and deal with fires.
