The Ministry of Interior (MoI), represented by the Policies Section, recently organized an introductory workshop at the National Qualifications Authority about the governance of institutional and public policies. The workshop was held to transfer the ministry’s experiences and expertise in this field to various local ministries and institutions. The workshop was attended by H.E. Dr. Thani Al Mehairi, Director General of the National Qualifications Authority, and its employees.
Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, assured in his speech during the workshop that Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, is interested in the MoI’s executive policies. “These policies constitute the newest images of planning, emanating from the ministry’s general strategy that was prepared by policy drafting committees and teams in different sectors of the MoI. A number of realistic policies were issued from this strategy, which keep up with developments in line with modern scientific methods to achieve the desired vision and goals,” he said.
He then explained that holding such introductory programs and workshops falls within the framework of the ministry’s eagerness to transfer its experiences and expertise in policy drafting. This is in line with reality and changes, as a principle tool to achieve distinction and respond effectively to fast and increasing changes across institutions that largely affect the promotion and development of the overall performance.
Major Saeed Al Shamesi, Chief of the Policies Section, gave a presentation about the adopted work mechanisms in drafting and developing the MoI’s policies, along with their application and the continuity of execution.
H.E. Dr. Al Mehairi presented at the end of the workshop a shield to Major General Dr. Al Nuaimi, thanking the ministry’s efforts in sharing its experiences and expertise with other institutions.
