A delegation from the Kingdom of Morocco recently visited the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department at Abu Dhabi Police. The delegation reviewed the department’s experience and efforts in implementing the best applicable practices and standards. The delegation members were acquainted with the modern methods and technologies adopted to develop communication mechanisms with inmates. This mechanism helps inmates communicate with the permissible entities under close supervision and in accordance with the applicable regulations and procedures.

Brigadier Ateeq Saeed Al Dhaheri, Deputy Head of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department at Abu Dhabi Police met with the visiting delegation members. The meeting was attended by Colonel Saeed Obaid Al Naqabi, Chief of Al Wathba Section and a number of officers at the Department. The visiting delegation reviewed the advanced systems adopted at the various sections.

The Moroccan delegation praised the services provided by the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department at Abu Dhabi Police. They expressed admiration for the department’s commitment to respect inmates’ rights and to provide rehabilitation procedures and programs that ensure inmates’ well-being and facilitate their integration into their communities.

Towards the end of the visit, both parties exchanged commemorative gifts. The Moroccan delegation expressed their thanks and gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality.
