The Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development at the General Secretariat of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior launched an educational initiative to spread the concepts of “Foreseeing the Future.”

Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General at the Ministry of Interior (MoI), said that the initiative aims at spreading the culture of foreseeing the future among the MoI staff, highlighting its importance in determining future opportunities that face the police and security work, and immediately implement the appropriate solutions and calculated plans. He also noted that foreseeing the future is a governmental approach and a measure within the new fourth category of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Award.

He added that educational lectures will be organized for the MoI staff under the initiative, covering police leaderships and training workshops focusing on introducing tools of foreseeing the future adopted through scenarios, the Delphi technique and the future wheel.

He stressed the MoI’s endeavors and keenness to adopt foreseeing the future as a smart and strategic governmental application, pointing out to the approach aiming to spread foreseeing the future all over the country according to the duties of the police and security sector. He explained that the MoI has already implemented one of the tools of foreseeing the future since 2013 through the scenario tool that focuses on identifying future scenarios and their importance in the future of police and security work.

Major Suleiman Al Ka’bi, Deputy Director of the Decision-making Support Center at the General Secretariat of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, gave a lecture at the Forensic Evidence Department`s hall in Abu Dhabi Police in line with the educational initiative. He noted that the UAE is a leader in strategic foreseeing of the future in its governmental sector due to its importance in helping decision makers in their capabilities to recognize available future opportunities.
