As a part of the UAE Innovation Week activities, the Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners’ Affairs in Abu Dhabi launched an ‘Innovation Lab’ at the directorate’s headquarters.

Brigadier Mansour Ahmed Ali Hamoud Al Dhaheri, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police, called upon staff members to pursue an innovation approach in order to further improve and develop the services provided by the police to community members. This approach aligns with the Abu Dhabi Police’s vision in the field of creativity and innovation.

The ‘Innovation Lab’ reflects the Ministry of Interior’s vision to promote innovation and sponsor innovators by adopting their ideas, and enabling them to unleash their intellectual potentials, and endeavor to leverage these potentials to achieve concrete and constructive results. The lab also embodies the directorate’s commitment to support talented and innovative staff members and help them to turn their ideas into reality.

The ‘Innovation lab’ provides an appropriate environment conducive to innovation, which encourages staff members to submit innovative ideas and suggestions to upgrade work and improve the services offered to members of the public.

During the lab’s inauguration ceremony, a number of staff members submitted a set of proposals to develop police work. Staff members also attended a workshop, which tackled the creativity and innovation concept, as well as mind mapping and brainstorming tools.

The ceremony was attended by Brigadier Yusuf Ismail Khouri, Deputy Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi, as well as heads of departments and chiefs of sections.
