The Ministry of Interior (MoI) discussed the civil defense sector budgeting project for the years 2017-2021 in the first meeting of the Civil Defense Sector Development Council during 2016. The meeting was chaired by Major General Nasser Salem Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Chairman of the Civil Defense Sector Development Council. The meeting was held at Al Ittihad Hall in the MoI’s headquarters.

The council reviewed the presentation on the work commissioned to the Human Resources Committee and the Legal Committee of the Federal Civil Defense Sector Development Council, and the challenges facing the Fujairah Civil Defense Department.

The council also discussed the safety requirements in the yacht docks, and the strategic initiatives for 2017-2021, in addition to a number of issues on the agenda.

The Chairman of the Council called for doubling the efforts in line with the government’s vision to make the UAE amongst the best countries in the world in terms of safety and security, by focusing on developing the Civil Defense Sector, to ensure the safety of human life and properties through adopting sophisticated smart systems.

The meeting was attended by Major General Jassem Muhammad Al Marzouqui, Civil Defense General Commander-in-chief at the Ministry of Interior; and Major General Salem Ali Al Shamesi,  Director General of Finance and Services at the Ministry of Interior, along with General Directors and Directors of regional civil defense departments members of the Council.
