In a recently held meeting, the newly established General Directorate of the Community Protection and Crime Prevention at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior discussed its organizational structure and vision in regards to future developmental roles and to enhancing security processes. The meeting was chaired by Colonel Mubarak Awadh Bin Muhairom, the Director General of the Directorate – of which was established following the strategic directions of the Ministry of Interior succeeding the Ministerial Decree No. 149 of 2015.

During the meeting, the concerned department heads reviewed the tasks and achievements of the Directorate during the past period. The participants additionally discussed the Directorate’s current and future visions in order to achieve the objectives of the General Directorate of the Community Protection and Crime Prevention.

Colonel Bin Muhairom encouraged the attendees to upgrade their work in accordance with scientific methodology that addresses the current requirements for community protection and crime prevention in order to achieve the objectives of the Ministry of Interior. The objectives of the Ministry for the Directorate include: providing stability, security, and the highest levels of safety; embodying the notion of partnership and shared responsibility with state institutions and members of the community; and providing social and philanthropic services that reflect such partnerships.

It is worth mentioning that this meeting is the first of its kind since the Directorate was established. It was attended by: Colonel Saif Obaid Al Khaili, Head of the Police Follow-up Department; Colonel Dr. Salah Obeid Al Ghoul, Director of Law Respect Culture Bureau, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Major Dr. Khaled Al Ameri from the Ministry of Interior’s Centers for Rehabilitation and Employment of People with Special Needs; and Major Dr. Mohammed Khalifa Rashid, Director of the Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Centre; in addition to a number of managers and officials.
