Under the patronage of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, attended on Tuesday the seventh group wedding organized by the MoI for 43 of its nationwide staff members. The event, held at the Armed Forces Officers Club in Abu Dhabi, was organized by the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the Marriage Fund.

The group wedding was attended by Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General at the Ministry of Interior; Rashid Obaid Al Kashf and Mohammed Haji Al Khouri, Board Members of the Marriage Fund; as well as a number of MoI officers; the families and relatives of the grooms and brides and a large gathering of guests..

In his statement, Lt. General Al Sha’far said: “The seventh group wedding, organized by the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with the Marriage Fund, aims to mitigate the burdens suffered by young looking to get married in order to participate in building cohesive families. It embodies the Ministry of Interior’s true spirit of societal partnership and affirms its humanitarian contributions; and falls in line with the efforts to support citizens determined to establish happy Emirati families.”

Lt. General Al Sha’far stressed that building a happy family is the best guarantee to enhance security and stability throughout the country. “Group weddings have proven to be an ideal method to cutting the excessive costs of marriage, curtail the extravagance of basic wedding necessities and their negative impacts, in order to rationalize expenditure and establish stable debt-free families.  They are also an ideal opportunity for generations to communicate and to enhance affection and familiarity,” he added.

In conclusion, Lt. General Al Sha’far congratulated the newlyweds, wishing them a happy life. He called upon them to use this day as the platform for a new social life, based on mutual respect, good relations and mutual understanding. He urged them to shoulder the responsibility, in order to achieve a stable family life.

The Police Music band performed a number of musical pieces, while the military band presented folk dances inspired by the occasion.
