MoI: Winning 13 awards and medal of Khalifa Government
Excellence Programme is most outstanding achievement
Ministry of Interior (MoI) continuous its successes by getting local and international awards. This world stature is due to the kind attention paid to MoI by HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.(god bless him), keenness of HH Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice president and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai (God protect him) and their brothers Their Highnesses, the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates and HH General Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the efforts of HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, in developing MoI performance in accordance with best global practices.
MoI winning of 13 awards and a medal of Sheikh Khalifa Government excellence Programme is considered the most outstanding achievement. MoI won the award of distinguished federal ministry of more than 900 employees, distinguished federal authority in leadership areas, distinguished strategy, distinguished operations, distinguished innovation and distinguished government communication. MoI Criminal Investigation Team won the award of distinguished working team when it foiled an a criminal attempt to smuggle narcotic tablets worth Dh550m, in addition to other Orders received by MoI employees in: Field work, Technical Supervision, Specialized Jobs and Administration.
These achievements coincide with the 39th National Day celebrations where the UAE has become in the lead in safety, security and stability at the world level according to international classification report of Trade Empowerment 2010, issued by the World Economic Forum. Now the UAE is in the fourth place in terms of police services areas.
MoI achievements has formed an integrated system which contributes to the comprehensive development of the country, in addition to leadership in police services to the community, characterized by transparency, honesty, integrity and partnership with the community.
Correctional Establishments:
The Directorate General of Correctional and Punitive Establishments has intensified training courses for their inmates to raise their vocational and professional abilities. MoI has paid great attention to the Correctional Establishments buildings in terms of capacity and specifications. Plans have been made to expand the capacity of Sharjah and RAK establishments. Operations rooms in the establishments of Sharjah, Ajman, RAK and Abu Dhabi has been provided with TV Closed Circuits, in addition to periodical maintenance works and improvements of facilities at these establishments.
All country establishments have launched a programme to prepare national inmates for labor market by signing a MOU between MoI and the Higher Colleges of Technology, according to which the inmates receive training in English language, Mathematics and other scientific skills.
Passports
Naturalization, Residency and Ports Sector implements electronic administration among other departments. The employee receives all instructions and directions through e-mail system. They have dispensed with paper work for good. All work permits are linked to the unified Naturalization and Residency System.
