The Directorate General of Punitive and Correctional Establishments at the Ministry of Interior hosted a ceremony to celebrate winning Excellence awards in the “Best Institution in Policy Implementation” category, as a part of the Minister of Interior’s Excellence Award’s third edition. During the ceremony, which was held at the directorate’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, recipients of the “Ideal Employee” award were also honored.

Brigadier Hamad Adeel Al Shamesi, Director General of Correctional and Punitive Establishments at the Ministry of Interior, hailed the support of the police leadership to the ongoing march of excellence achieved by the Ministry of Interior in various fields. “Excellence has become an integral part of our culture and a way of life for our staff members, in their quest to enhance levels of performance, provide excellent services to the public, and to promote security and stability in the UAE,” he added.

Brigadier Al Shamesi praised the winners, participants, judges, and coordinators for their efforts in enhancing participation at the competitions. “The Ministry has worked towards implementing excellent service standards and performance in the delivery and conduct of operations in order to contribute to achieving its strategic goals,” he said.

Brigadier Al Shamesi reiterated the commitment to fulfilling the MoI’s strategy and to encouraging distinguished staff members to carry out their tasks and duties to the best of their ability. “The leadership is keen to support our members who are creative and innovative- for they play an essential role in promoting our steps towards safety and security and in sustaining the unique position that the UAE has achieved,” he continued.

The Directorate General of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, Dubai, ranked first, followed by the Punitive and Correctional Institutions Department in Abu Dhabi in second place, and the Punitive and Correctional Institutions Department in Sharjah in third place.

The ceremony was attended by heads of departments’ Directors, chiefs of sections, as well as a number of officers from the Directorate General of Punitive and Correctional Establishments in Abu Dhabi.
