A total of 550 workers in Abu Dhabi and Fujairah benefited from the awareness lectures provided by the Police Education Section at the Law Respect Culture Bureau at the General Directorate of the Community Protection and Crime Prevention, the Ministry of Interior.
First Lt. Ali Hassan Al Hammadi gave an overview of the Law Respect Culture Bureau, the goals it strives to achieve, and its important role in enhancing legal awareness amongst workers, and acquainting them with their rights and duties towards the job and the host country. He also highlighted the most common violations committed by workers, their seriousness, and related penalties.
Moreover, he noted that the laws and legislations in the country have been enacted to organize the legal rights and obligations of individuals in way that provides them with a safe life. “The law guarantees the rights and has imposed a set of commitments in return; that must be exercised within the limits of the law,” he said.
Moreover, the Law Respect Culture Bureau organized a societal awareness lecture, which benefited 70 students from the Moza Bint Butti School- Cycle 2. The lecture tackled the law respect culture and acquainted students with the Law Respect Culture Bureau and its goals. The lecture also discussed the ethics, which are the pillars of law respect and the importance of knowing the laws in order to avoid consequences and legal accountability. The students were also briefed about their rights and obligations.
