A total of 50 juveniles from the Juveniles Care Center at Abu Dhabi Police have benefited from a lecture organized by the Creativity and Leadership Development Center at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior under the theme “Good Citizenship”.

The lecture called for instilling good citizenship values and promoting the cultural and traditional heritage in the Emirati society. It also called for promoting the genuine Emirati principles, and encouraging social and legal responsibility within the framework of security and stability that prevail throughout the country.

The lecture that was delivered by social researcher Maryam Mohammed Al Ahmadi, Member of the Juvenile Care Center’s Steering Committee at Abu Dhabi Police, focused on encouraging juveniles to take part in the various societal events, come up with ideas, and to submit national opinions. It also focused on encouraging self-development and innovation amongst juveniles, in their quest to become a role model for the community.

During the lecture, Al Ahmadi gave an overview of the intellectual aspects featured in the book “My Vision”, penned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. Moreover, Al Ahmadi highlighted the rich and illuminating experience that hones the personality so as to nurture promising humanitarian development opportunities.

The juveniles interacted significantly with the lecture’s topics and showed positive cooperation and response with the efforts to promote national belonging, social cohesion, as well as legal and societal concepts, so as to become daily practices that would contribute to reform their behaviors and ensure their reintegration into society through the most effective methods of enlightening educational activity.

It is worth mentioning that the Juvenile Welfare Centre won the Guinness World Record, for the most books exchanged in 8 hours, which amounted to 2,868 books. The event was part of an educational initiative  organized by the Juvenile Welfare Centre at Abu Dhabi Police, under the slogan “Together we promote children’s behavior”, and featured the participation of parents (citizens and residents) and children.
