The Sports Activity Section at the Strategy and Performance Development Department at the Ministry of Interior organized an introductory seminar on physical fitness tests for staff members of the Ministry of Interior and the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. The seminar was held at the auditorium of the Abu Dhabi Police Officers Club.

Captain Muhammad Abdul Aziz Al Maamari, Chief of the Sports Activity Section said: “Physical fitness testing programs aim to enhance the physical fitness of police and MoI’s members and boost their sports culture. They also aim to raise their awareness on the need to adopt sports as a lifestyle, and to maintain their health through regular medical tests that are conducted prior to the tests.”

Captain Al Maamari also stressed the commitment of the Ministry of Interior to enhance physical and psychological readiness of its staff members, based on police work conditions and the police institution’s need for strong and healthy members, physically and psychologically. He also emphasized the ministry’s commitment to unify concepts and procedures across all police sectors by adopting applicable training programs and physical fitness exercises.

The seminar provided the MoI’s participants with an overview of the physical fitness testing programs; their timing, importance and the nature of such mandatory programs.
