The General Directorate of Punitive and Correctional Establishments of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) organized a group Iftar for employees, inmates and their families in the Correctional and Punitive Establishments. This meal was held under the umbrella of social and humanitarian communication with inmates and their families, to spread happiness among everyone.
The initiative embodies the values of social responsibility, as well as supporting the General Directorate of Correctional and Punitive Establishments’ charitable and humanitarian initiatives. It brings joy to the inmates and their families during the Holy Month.
Brigadier Hamad Khamis Al Dhaheri, Deputy Head of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department, highlighted that the group Iftar is a chance to communicate with workers and translates the Police Leadership recommendations of enhancing cooperation and communication between employees of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments and inmates during this Holy Month.
He added that having the Iftar meal in an amicable and happy environment lifts the inmate’s spirits and makes them happy. He also underlined that such yearly events play a major role in the rehabilitation of prisoners so that they become devoted members of the community after finishing their sentence.
The Iftar was attended by Brigadier Dr. Yusuf Rashed Al Hamidi, Head of the Policies and Standards Department; Colonel Mohammed Shamekh Ali Al Badi, Head of the Inspection and Control Department; Colonel Yousef Mohammed Al Shehhi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Federal Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department; Colonel Ali Saeed Al Zayoudi, Head of the Sentences Execution and Prisoners Affairs Department; chiefs of sections; and a number of officers from the General Directorate of Punitive and Correctional Establishments.
