Winners of the ‘GCC e-Government Award' will be announced and honored during the opening ceremony of the fourth e-Government Conference and Exhibition, which will take place tomorrow, Wednesday in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The United Arab Emirates, represented by the Security Support Department, at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, will be taking part in the conference.

The UAE Ministry of Interior has qualified for the final phase, for the ‘best government practice in community e-participation’, one of the key categories of the award, where government ministries, agencies and authorities from the GCC countries compete by showcasing their international best practices using Information and Communications Technology (ICT) tools to provide services, and information and conduct online transactions, all of which are in line with the standards set that are aligned with the GCC vision, which seeks to promote an knowledge-based economy and society.

The conference is another opportunity for GCC member countries to meet and brainstorm ideas, and to exchange expertise and experiences between officials, decision-makers and experts in GCC e-Government programs. This would benefit all Member States, and support the e-transformation process. The ‘GCC e-Government Award' is organized in conjunction with the conference and exhibition, where a number of GCC government agencies participate to review the latest applications and techniques used in their respective fields of work.
