The Abu Dhabi Police enhanced the skills of 24 staff members in dealing with crisis and disasters, as a part of the “Technical Program 21” victim identification course. The course was held at the Victims Affairs Office’s Call Center.

The course focused on refining the technical skills of the trainees and acquainting them with the disasters and mass casualty incidents’ victims’ identification. The course falls in line with the Abu Dhabi Police’s vision, to avail of cutting-edge technologies to promote the safety and security of society.

Lt. Colonel Raed Ali Al Muhairi, Director of the Victim Affairs Office, at the Crisis and Disasters Management Department of the Central Operations Department at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, distributed the certificates to the graduated staff. The course tackled a number of topics namely, training on receiving notifications and inquiries from victims’ families; and filling victim identification; collecting data and information about victims through a technical program which displays reports of missing persons, as well as details about survivors, the injured, those who have been evacuated and the deceased. The system is based on the international processes and protocols adopted by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).

In conclusion, Lt. Colonel Al Muhairi urged staff members to exert further efforts to develop police work and reiterated the keenness of the Abu Dhabi Police to promote the skills of personnel.
