The General Directorate of the Community Protection and Crime Prevention at the General Secretariat of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior will be participating in the ninth edition of Al Dhafra Camel Festival 2015. The event is organized by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Tourism and Culture at the Western Region; in Madinat Zayed in the Western Region.  

Colonel Mubarak bin Muhairom, Director General of Community Protection and Crime Prevention noted that the participation of a number of departments at the General Directorate of the Community Protection and Crime Prevention falls within the cultural and social role played by the Ministry of Interior. This role is played by the Ministry through its participation in various events organized by official and public bodies.

Moreover, he stressed the keenness to enhance awareness programs through cooperating with visitors of the festival that witnesses great attendance from various nationalities and ages. This is achieved by disseminating awareness messages, organizing introductory workshops and educational activities aimed at enhancing the public’s trust in all services provided by the police and related to security and safety of the society.

A number of police departments and bodies are taking part in the festival including: Social Support Centers Department; Community Police; the Ministry of Interior's Centers for Rehabilitation and Employment of People with Special Needs; the Police Follow-up Department (the Traffic Points Reduction Section); the Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Centre; along with the Law Respect Culture Bureau. The mentioned departments organized a number of social events in order to enhance awareness among the festival’s visitors and to acquaint them with various services provided by the police.
