The General Directorate of Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) launched a campaign during the holy month of Ramadan entitled ‘Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility’. The campaign aims to spread a culture of prevention and safety among members of society through awareness messages that focus on home safety and on protecting families, children, and vehicles.
“The outreach campaign aims to utilize various media and social networking sites to raise public awareness and reduce the amount of fire-related incidents,” said Major General Jassem Muhammad Al Marzouqui, Commander-in-Chief of the Civil Defense. “Awareness brochures and leaflets will also be distributed to the public in various gathering places, such as shopping malls, Ramadan festivals, and sports clubs.”
He called upon the public to take part in the campaign, which comes as part of the “Your Safety” campaign organized by the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. Maj. General Al Marzouqui additionally encouraged members of the public to cooperate with Civil Defense personnel and to not crowd areas where incidents occur.
