In cooperation and coordination with the Regional Blood Bank in Al Ain, Tawam Hospital and Johns Hopkins Medical University, the Highways Traffic Section- Al Ain at the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate recently organized a blood drive for the section’s staff members and customers.
The drive was inaugurated with a blood donation from Lt. Colonel Salah Abdullah Al Hemairi, Chief of Main Roads Traffic Section- Al Ain. He noted that the initiative is aimed at enhancing medical, scientific, and societal values and instilling these values in people to encourage further giving and the sense of belonging. “Donating blood is a humane duty that reflects positively on society members and might save the life of people in critical condition where available donors of the precise same blood type are scarce, not to mention its medical benefits, as it helps to renew the donors cells and activity,” he said.
Adding further, he said: “The blood donation campaigns falls in line with the social activities organized by the Highways Section in Al Ain; as part of the external outreach methodology of the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate and within the framework of the strategies of the Ministry of Interior on the need to communicate with the various segments of society and societal institutions in order to reach the highest levels of cooperation and coordination, social and cultural interaction and awareness with everyone”.
It is worth mentioning that a group of staff members from the Traffic Institute Section and Al Ain Vehicle Licensing Section at the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters as well as their customers took part in the campaign.
