Major General Maktoum Ali Al Shareefi, Acting Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, received the top achieving runner Rashid Butti Al Qubaisi, who ranked first in the Spartan Race, which was held for the first time in the Kingdom of Bahrain, on April 1, 2016.

Major General Al Shareefi praised the outstanding achievement made by Al Qubaisi, as the first Arab and GCC runner to bag the title in the race, which is regarded as one of the toughest endurance races that require high physical fitness. MoI staff member and former runner in the UAE’s National Athletics Team Rashid Butti Al Qubaisi took part in the race, representing the United Arab Emirates and the Ministry of Interior.

The Spartan Race Higher Organizing Committee in Bahrain had recently honored Al Qubaisi, in recognition of his contributions and achievements, as well as his honorable participation in the first edition of the Spartan Race World Championship in the USA, which was held in Lake Tahoe, California in October 2015, where he ranked in the 20th position.
