The Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police has discussed scientific cooperation with the United Arab Emirates and New York Universities, to benefit from their research centers for the purpose of traffic studies and research, with a view to raising traffic safety levels in Abu Dhabi.

During their visit to the Traffic Creativity and Innovation Center at the Directorate, delegates from the two universities reviewed the strategy for developing supporting systems and software. The aim of this strategy is to implement the best international practices, harness artificial intelligence systems and provide interconnectivity and integration between various systems, to achieve sustainable traffic safety.

Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Eng. Badr Ahmed Al Harithi, Head of the Traffic and Road Safety Engineering briefed the two delegations on the Center, which is linked to more than 25 different systems. “The systems are monitored and managed by collecting data between the various Abu Dhabi Police GHQ systems,” he said. He also explained that the data is constantly analyzed to establish the best solutions and commands, and thereby reach the highest levels of efficiency and effectiveness in traffic safety decision-making.
