The Community Police Department at the Abu Dhabi Police has intensified its foot patrols in various commercial centers and areas of Abu Dhabi in preparation for the Eid El Adha holiday. This measure falls within its strategy to communicate with community members, to resolve any disputes that may arise, and to control the expected crowds and traffic jams before the holiday.

Major Yussuf Faraj, Deputy Director of the Community Police Department, pointed out that the presence of the Community Police teams throughout the various areas of the emirate exemplifies their keenness to listen to any suggestions and complaints from the public. “The Community Police teams are dedicated to resolving any disagreements and endeavor to promote all efforts to maintain order in busy areas,” he said; noting that that the teams are also involved in regulating the distribution of sacrificial meat and touring parks, the Corniche, and commercial centers.

The Community Awareness Section at the Department of Community Police has also organized messages to be broadcasted via Emarat FM during the days of Eid. These messages focus on raising the awareness of parents and children regarding the dangers of fireworks and firecrackers, which are frequently used by children during holidays and result in injuries. The section will be also sending text messages via mobile phones and social media, urging the public to abide by safety procedures in parks and roads, and avoid all behaviors that could mar the joy of the Eid.
