The Operations Department team of the Directorate General of Central Operations at the Abu Dhabi Police has been crowned with the wining trophy of the Abu Dhabi Police Ramadan Seven-a-side Football Tournament. The Capital Police Directorate team ranked second in the championship that was organized by the Sport Activities Section of the Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police. A total of 17 teams from various departments of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ) took part in the 21-day tournament that took place at the Police Staff Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

The final match was attended by Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior. In a speech delivered on this occasion, Maj. Gen. Al Raisi stressed the keenness and commitment of the Ministry of Interior and its affiliates to develop sport activities for their staff members. “Sports activity develops the athletic abilities alongside the physical, psychological, and mental health of police officers. It also contributes to boosting the levels of job performance for our police staff members,” he said. Moreover, Maj. Gen. Al Raisi praised the enthusiastic atmosphere at the championship’s finals and the high morale of the players.

It is worth mentioning that the Operations Department team won the final match against the Capital Police Directorate team 5-1. The Police College Department team placed third after winning against the Western Region Police Directorate team, which ranked fourth, with a score of 3-2.
