The Training Section at the Emergency and Public Safety Department, the General Directorate of the Central Operations at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, obtained an internationally recognized certificate from the US-based International Commission on Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health, as an accredited training center to provide specialized training courses in the field of occupational and environmental safety and health.

Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, emphasized that this membership is a new milestone for Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, in terms of providing internationally accredited courses for all participants, from the General Headquarters or other governmental departments. This would serve the mission, tasks and duties of staff members in the workplace, in line with occupational health and safety standards.

Adding further, Brigadier Al Harithis said: “The Training Section at the Emergency and Occupational Safety Department houses experienced trainers in the field of environmental and occupational safety and health accredited by the American Heart Association and the International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF). 20 trainers in the field of environmental and occupational safety and health have been qualified by the International Commission on Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health, which allows the Training Section to issue international certificates that are accredited by the commission to trainers.”

For his part, Colonel Mohammed Al Ameri, Head of the Emergency and Public Safety Department, confirmed: “By winning this highly acclaimed accreditation, as a Certified Training Center in this field, the Emergency and Public Safety Department, in its capacity as a government entity, adds another important milestone to the record of achievements at the level of the Abu Dhabi emirate. It also marks a positive achievement for the Abu Dhabi Environment, Health and Safety Center (OSHAD) as a specialized entity at the UAE level.”

In conclusion, Colonel Al Ameri said: "Given the fact that the certificate is internationally accredited, all strategic partners may enroll their staff members at the Training Section to receive the high quality training by our certified trainers."
