The Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development at the General Secretariat of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior (MoI), organized a tour to introduce the joint services projects at the MoI level, as of 17 February.
According to Major Dana Humaid Al Marzouqi, Head of Joint Projects and Services Department, the tour includes exchanging experiences and organizing lectures on the joint services project, and its importance within the framework of police leadership directions recommending merging similar services between the administrative units within a central unit. This aligns with the government requirements of standardization at the ministry level.
She explained that the tour will include the Police General Headquarters in Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah, and then will be transferred to the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector, the Civil Defense General Directorate, and the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department.
Major Hamdan Rashid Al Yamahi, Head of Joint Services Centre at the MoI, explained that the lectures will focus on the evaluation and analysis of the current situation and the efforts aiming to raise the performance of the service quality and customer satisfaction. This will be done by presenting it through common channels which are easy to measure and develop, by improving the performance management and follow-up mechanisms. It also will be done by emphasizing the new requirements for excellence in the federal government, the Smart Government requirements and the international prizes dedicated for smart applications.
He added that the joint services represent a framework that allows the police institution to better leverage its resources by merging the organizational units involved in the provision of institutional support services into a central organizational unit. This standardizes the service criteria procedures that contribute to the development of quality and excellence, resulting in a reduction in operating costs for these services.
