The Human Resources Directorate General organized, in coordination and cooperation with the Medical Services Department at Abu Dhabi Police, a lecture on the importance of the early detection of cervical cancer. Delivered by Consultant Doctor Ahmed Abdel Haq, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Universal Hospitals, the lecture was held at the Decision-making Support Center’s theatre in the Police Departments Complex in Abu Dhabi.

He encouraged undergoing regular early checkups and cited the factors that could increase the risk of cervical cancer. He also pointed out that the early detection system for Abu Dhabi Police affiliates was introduced in 2010 and that vaccination for female UAE nationals from the ages of 18-26 is provided free of charge.

He stressed the importance of undergoing regular checkups every three years and taking the vaccine that prevents cervical cancer. He also addressed topics related to prevention methods, raised the women’s awareness of the disease’s risks and phases, and emphasized the importance of awareness and identifying its causes in order to avoid the disease.
