The Ministry of Interior celebrated the graduation of 71 officers from the various police general headquarters across the UAE and the Ministry of Interior’s departments after completing the Intermediate Leadership Course No. 58 and the Senior Leadership Course No. 80. The courses were organized by the Officers Training Institute at the Federal Police School in Sharjah.

Brigadier Mohammed Obeid Al Dhaheri, Director General of Human Resources at the Ministry of Interior, attended the graduation ceremony, which was held on Thursday, in the presence of Brigadier Ahmed Al Hajri, Director of the Federal Police School; Lt. Colonel Omran Al Hameli, Acting Director of the Officers’ Training Institute. Also attending were heads of departments and sections and a number of officers from the Federal Police School in Sharjah.

In his speech at the ceremony, Brigadier Al Dhaheri emphasized the Ministry of Interior’s commitment, upon the recommendations of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to provide continuous training to the ministry’s staff members, each according to his respective discipline. “Such courses aim to enhance staff members’ scientific and practical competencies with the aim of improving security work and providing the best services to the public,” he said. He added that the security and safety witnessed by the UAE are testament to the leadership’s attention to the police entities.

Lt. Colonel Omran Al Hameli, Acting Director of the Officers’ Training Institute, noted that the graduates have gained the necessary knowledge and various skills to enhance their capabilities, so as to prepare them for the requirements of their new careers. He said: “This extensive knowledge that the graduates have acquired will also help them to keep abreast of the latest developments and raise the level of services.” He also noted that the Leadership courses have witnessed development in terms of curricula and methods.

In his address to the graduates of the two courses, Major Ahmad Ibrahim Al Tunaiji said that the Police Officers Training Institute has a significant influence on boosting staff members’ skills with different academic and training programs in their respective disciplines, to allow them to cope with work requirements by providing them with information and experiences that further enhance the development of police work.

Adding further, Major Al Tunaiji noted that the graduates take pride in the knowledge they acquired, which refines their capabilities and skills towards achieving change and development in the different security and police fields. “The graduates have benefitted from the modern sciences provided to them during the course. They have taken upon themselves an enormous responsibility towards making good use of the knowledge they have acquired in practical life in order to develop the police body, in its quest to achieve excellence and efficiency, within the framework of the Ministry of Interior’s strategy,” he continued.

Towards the end of the ceremony, Brigadier Al Dhaheri distributed certificates to the graduates.
