120 schoolgirls from “Al Reyada” school in the Al Shamkha area of Abu Dhabi benefited from a lecture organized by the Law Respect Culture Bureau at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The lecture is part of the bureau’s law culture awareness program on positive citizenship and the risks of using electronic communication platforms.

First Lieutenant Juma’a Mohammed Al Hosani from the Law Respect Culture Bureau reviewed the concept of citizenship and patriotism, the components of good citizenship, national duties, loyalty and affiliation. He also pointed out that the concept of patriotism goes beyond flashy logos and impassioned anthems, “for the greatest gift we offer to the country is the affiliation which exceeds self-limits, self-interests and vanities, and reaches sacrifice every minute, with all our senses and emotions in order to build it.”

Lieutenant Thani Hamad Mohammed Al Afari from the Law Respect Culture Bureau talked about some of the basic concepts related to an individual’s social responsibility and his/her role in the surrounding community. He also explained that a person should respect and take into account the freedom of others, and advised the schoolgirls to use social media platforms positively, and not to use them in a negative and law-violating way.
