The Medical Services Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters concluded the 5th Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Conference for the treatment of bone diseases and injuries. The conference was held at the Fairmont Hotel, Bab el Baher in Abu Dhabi, and was attended by a number of orthopedic specialists from the USA, Italy and Britain, as well as the competent medical authorities from the UAE in the field of bone diseases.
Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director of Finance and Services in Abu Dhabi Police, praised the excellent status of the Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Conference for the treatment of bone diseases and injuries. He reaffirmed the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ keenness to keep up with the latest technical and scientific developments which contribute in enhancing the quality of services in the various fields, particularly in the medical field.
He also commended the continuous support and great attention given by Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior to all police sectors. This support enables the police departments to provide advanced services and improve their technical and practical performance. It also enables them to provide the best methods of diagnosis and treatment and medical care to members of police by recruiting skillful specialists in the various medical specialties, and developing the staff’s competencies by sending them on scholarships abroad to acquire the appropriate scientific expertise in the various fields.
Major General Badran added: “This conference sheds the light on the modern and sophisticated aspects of treatment of bone diseases and injuries. We highly value the participation of an elite group of experts in this field, by keeping up with the latest scientific and medical developments, which reflects positively on improving our medical services as per the best international standards.”
For his part, Brigadier Salim Saleh Al Junaibi, Director of Medical Services Department, said: “The Abu Dhabi Police Medial Services Department has become an international training center, and will grant international specialized certificates by 2013.”
He added: “The Medical Services Department will organize the Dermatology Conference in January 2013, as part of the special plan to raise the level of performance, in line with the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ strategy. The Dermatology conference which will be an international forum will shed the light on the latest treatment techniques and medical studies, and will contribute in raising the level of performance of the medical staff. The department will also organize an international medical forum on the use of X-ray imaging in diagnosing accurately the digestive system diseases.”
Al Junaibi praised the role of Security Media in the success of 5th Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Conference for the treatment of bone diseases and injuries. He said: “Media is a key element in the conference’s success by highlighting the value of topics discussed on its agenda. The media also contributes effectively in delivering information to the public, to ensure a better understanding of such specialized medical conferences.”
Moreover, Dr. Martinolli, one of the speakers at the conference, praised the Abu Dhabi Police Medial Services Department and its diligent efforts to become an international medical center in various medical specialties. He also stressed his keenness to participate in the Ultrasound Conference every year, for its importance and effectiveness in the field of orthopedics.
The 5th Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Conference discussed over the past two days, a number of topics, presented by the most prominent orthopedic experts from all over the world. Dr. De Petro from the United States of America gave a lecture about the possibility of using ultrasound imaging to evaluate a number of muscle and bone diseases resulting from growth malformations and the Congenital Hip Dislocation (Dysplasia) especially in children. Dr. Boval from the United States of America also gave a lecture about the unified scanning of the hip area through ultrasound imaging.
At the end of the conference, the Medical Services Department General Director honored the speakers at the conference, as well as the other doctors, specialists and sponsors who participated in the conference.
