MOU between MoI and Sharjah University signed
The Minister of Interior has signed a MOU with the University of Sharjah, with a view to strengthen partnership and cooperation ties between them in human resources development, education and training areas.
The aim of the MOU is to raise scientific research and training level, to develop and promote professional proficiency of MoI employees in order to perform all tasks required by the Ministry.
Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Shaafar, MoI Undersecretary signed the MOU for MoI, and Dr. Sami Abdu Hameed Mahmood, University Chancellor, signed for Sharjah University. Al Shaafar lauded partnership between two parties, affirming its importance in boosting cooperation in scientific dn training areas for country service.
In turn Dr. Sami Mahmood expressed his gratitude to Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for his are and attention to upgrading scientific research and training level, developing and promoting professional proficiency of MoI employees. He also lauded the leading role of MoI and congratulated them for winning 13 Awards and an order of Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Programme.
"The pact comes in response to Community partnership principle launched by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and the Supreme President of the University, affirming that the University of Sharjah is a comprehensive institution which serves the UAE in education, scientific research and community service", added Dr. Sami.
He has affirmed that the University would provide best education and training means for MoI employees, through academic programmes related to MoI tasks and duties. The University teaching staff and specialists, at regional and global level, would participate in MoI employees training.
The signing ceremony was attended by Brigadier Mohammad Saleh Badah, Acting Director of Media and Public Relations, Colonel Mohammad Khalifa Al Marar, Director General of Undersecretary Diwan, Colonel Mohammad Saeed Abdullah Al Hameedi, Director of Officers Training Institute at the Police College, Colonel (Dr.) Ali Salim Saif Al Tenaiji, Director of Training and Colonel Mohammad Obeid Al Dhahri, Director of Personnel Affairs at MoI Directorate General of Human Resources. From University side the ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Al Amoash, Dean of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences College, Dr. Basil Sudan, Director of Continuous Education and Professional Development Center and Abdul Raheem Al Zarouni, Head of Protocol at the University.
