British student joins ADP Criminal Evidence Department
The British student, Lawry Cook from a British School “Al Khabirat” has joined the Department of Criminal Evidence to gain practical experience and to acquaint himself with procedures and regulations applied in analyzing the scenes of the crime.
Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hamadi, Director of Criminal Evidence Department at Abu Dhabi Police welcomed the trainee. According to Al Hamadi it is the first time that his department received a request from a private school to train one of its students. This confirms that ADP has succeeded in achieving effective partnership with different community institutions.
Al Hamadi said that HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior is keen to support educational guidance that assists students their future careers selections, whether they are nationals or residents. The four days of training will acquaint him with all procedures and equipments used in laboratory tests and examinations.
Captain Fatima Al Riyami, from Criminal Biology Section and 1st Lt. Maryam Ismail Al Risi, Head of Support Services Section have explained to the student the duties and tasks of their sections. 1st WO Abdullah Al Marzouqi has briefed the student on safety regulations applied in the laboratories. He will also be learning about documents examination and detection of forgery.
Lawry expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the assistance he has received from the department, and for the efforts that police officers make to fight and detect crimes.
