Traffic awareness lectures on drivers mistakes 

 

The ADP Traffic and Patrols Department has intensified its awareness lectures on the occasion of the 26th GCC Traffic Week under the theme “Beware Others Mistakes”.

The lectures were delivered at schools, universities, government departments and private sector companies, in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region. Lectures were delivered in Arabic and English by Officers and NCOs. They targeted a vast segment of the community to raise traffic safety awareness by use of visual aids.

The lecturers were, Lt. Colonel Yaslam Mubarak Al Tamimi, Head of Major Accidents’ Investigation Section, Major Ahmed Salim Al Niyadi, Head of Media and Public relations Section at ADP Traffic and patrols Department, Captain Abdullah Rashid Al Humoodi and 1st Lt. Hamdan Hassan Theban from the Media and Public Relations Section.    

The lectures focused on the theme of the Week and drivers mistakes while driving their vehicles, such as sudden change of lane, reckless driving and not using traffic indicators. They also stressed the risks of driving in the opposite direction of traffic, use of cell phones during driving, sudden stopping, not keeping safe distance between vehicles and crossing roads at undesignated spots by pedestrians.

Lecturers also gave advice on safe driving to avoid accidents and the resulting deaths and severe injuries. Publications and token gifts were distributed to the audience.
