Traffic accidents in Al Ain drop by 35%
Lt. Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Blushi, Head of Al Ain Traffic Section at ADP Directorate of Traffic and Patrols has revealed that tdeaths and severe injuries resulting from traffic accidents have dropped by 35% in Al Ain City, during the past 8 months this year, from 1 January to 25 August 2010. There were 121 deaths during the same period last year. This year deaths are down to 78.
This drop in accident is due to the integrated plan to disseminate traffic awarness among all road users, intensified traffic control on internal and external roads and catching violators on the City Streets. Surveillance has been tightened on all roads.
Al Blushi has urged drivers to abide by traffic rules and regulations in order to protect themselves and their families from traffic accidents and the resulting deaths and severe injuries.
It is known that the country’s growth has led to an increase in vehicle numbers on the roads, so Al Ain Traffic Section has distributed awareness brochures to drivers at border points with a view to educate drivers on the risks of traffic accidents and how to avoid them by compliance with traffic rules and regulations.
