The Punitive and Correctional Institutions Department at Abu Dhabi Police celebrated the graduation of 22 participants, including 9 officers from the 7th batch of officers, after completing a specialized training course on dealing with detainees and convicts for officers (Basic and Advanced levels).
Colonel Mohammed Saif Matar Al Zaabi, Head of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments Department at Abu Dhabi Police, praised the police leadership's keenness to provide the proper resources to encourage staff members to upgrade the standards of police work; by keeping abreast of constant developments, and enrolling in training courses that enhance their skills in favor of work development.
He called upon participants to apply practices, standards and programs in dealing with inmates, as per the international standards in this regard. He also urged them to share the knowledge and expertise they gained in this course with their colleagues, and to be a role model for them.
Colonel Al Zaabi valued the Training Department’s role in undertaking the training process, as well as its commitment and attention towards the Punitive and Correctional Institutions’ staff members. In conclusion, he thanked all those who contributed efforts to ensure the success of this program, in order to enhance the performance of the Punitive and Correctional Institutions and make sure they keep pace with international best practices.
