UAE signs agreement UNICEF for child protection
 
The UAE has extended the child protection agreement withUNICEF.The program which was started in 2005 and aims at fighting child trafficking and rehabilitation of child camel jockeys.
 
The initial agreement was for two years and the extended accord is also for another two years said Major General Saif Abdullah Al Shafaar, under secretary to the Ministry of Interior after signing the agreement with the UNICEF official.
 
The ceremony was witnessed by His Highness Lt.Gen Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan the Minister of Interior.
 
UAE has send around 1,075 child jockeys back home since the agreement was signed and allocated 30 million dirham’s for their rehabilitation and education in their respective countries supervised by the UNICEF said Al Shaafer.
