Traffic safety campaign for Pedestrians

 Use only subways to cross the road – Caution the authorities

Abu Dhabi Police Traffic department have organized an awareness campaign for the safety of the pedestrians focusing the need to strictly adhere the road crossing rules as many accidents have been reported due to the people resorting to fast crossing of roads with out using the sub ways provided for the purpose.

 Major Jamal Amri who led the campaign the safety campaign said that an average four people are subjected to accidents per week on crossing the road with out using the sub ways.

 He cautioned the people that the drivers of the vehicles on such fast lane roads may not be able to see the pedestrians crossing due to the plants and trees standing in the middle dividers and hence it is not at all proper to cross cut the road where the sub ways are provided.

 The government had spent millions of dhirams for the construction of sub ways only to protect the valuable human lives and the negligence from the part of public is totally unwarranted. He said.

 Any such violation will be closely monitored by the authorities and further cautions the public that it is against the traffic safety regulations. All are therefore advised to cross the road only through the subways where ever it is provided and there are so many in Abu Dhabi especially at places porn to accidents.

 Major Jamal Amri also asked the people to join this safety campaign and educate the people in assuring their safety especially of the children in this regard.
